Oday Ali Hassen
Dr. Oday Ali Hassen is an Assistant Professor in Information Technology at the Ministry of Education, Wasit Education Directorate, and Wasit University, Iraq. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Information Technology from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, with a doctoral thesis focused on smile classification using cascade classifiers in unconstrained scenarios. He also holds an M.Sc. in IT from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Mustansiriyah University. With over 45 peer-reviewed publications and extensive academic contributions, his research spans cyber security, data mining, artificial intelligence, image processing, IoT, and network systems. His Google Scholar h-index is 11, with additional recognitions on Scopus and Web of Science.
In addition to his teaching roles in both IT and mathematics, Dr. Hassen actively participates in numerous international conferences as a program and advisory committee member and reviewer. He has evaluated over 200 research papers and served on the technical panels for over 30 conferences globally. His administrative engagements include leadership roles in events such as CSEN, AIIoT, ICCES, and ITCSE. Dr. Hassen’s academic mentorship includes supervising several undergraduate student projects in systems design, security, and smart applications. His work combines strong theoretical foundations with practical innovation, contributing meaningfully to the fields of AI, cybersecurity, and applied informatics.
