Yong-Jae Lee

Dr. Yong-Jae Lee is a data scientist, researcher, and AI development engineer based in South Korea. He earned his Ph.D. in Industrial and Management Engineering from Korea University, focusing on sustainable technological innovation through patent analysis, particularly in transportation and green technology. His doctoral dissertation explored technological innovation for sustainable mobility, identifying eco-friendly solutions in railway and automotive sectors. He currently works as a researcher fulfilling alternative military service at TOBESOFT, where he designs and develops AI platforms and services, applying large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and other cloud-based AI technologies.

Dr. Lee's academic and professional expertise spans knowledge management, informetrics, and applied AI for smart cities. His research integrates machine learning, NLP, patent analytics, and network theory to extract insights from structured and unstructured data for forecasting and innovation strategy. He has published multiple articles in SCI, SSCI, Scopus, and KCI-indexed journals on topics such as green buildings, smart logistics, and cultural heritage. He is also an active reviewer for several academic journals, including Sustainability, Journal of Building Engineering, and Technologies.
