Soumya Ranjan Sethi

Soumya Ranjan Sethi is a Senior Research Fellow at the School of Management, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, India, specializing in financial distress prediction, behavioral finance, and corporate sustainability. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Finance at NIT Rourkela and has qualified UGC-NET and JRF with an impressive percentile. With hands-on experience in industry (L&T Financial Services), ISRO-funded research projects, and supervision of student dissertations, he brings a blend of academic rigor and practical exposure. He is proficient in software tools like SPSS, R, Stata, and EViews and has worked extensively with financial databases such as Prowess IQ, Refinitiv, and Capitaline.

Soumya has published and presented extensively, with articles accepted in reputed Scopus, Web of Science, ABDC, and ABS-indexed journals such as Acta Informatica Pragensia, Sustainable Futures, and Applied Econometrics and International Development. His recent works explore intersections of AI/ML in financial distress prediction, ESG, fintech, and sustainability. He has actively participated in international conferences including those hosted by IIM Sambalpur and the Indonesian Finance Association. With a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and academic excellence, he aspires to contribute as an Assistant Professor in Commerce and Management.
