Dr. Faik Bilgili, Professor at Erciyes University (Kayseri, Turkey), earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the City University of New York Graduate Center. He has taught statistics, micro- and macroeconomics at several institutions in New York before moving to Erciyes University, where he now instructs econometrics at the doctoral level alongside undergraduate and graduate courses in economics. Dr. Bilgili’s interdisciplinary research bridges economics, energy, and environmental science, focusing on sustainability challenges such as energy transition, climate change, CO₂ emissions, and natural resource management. He applies advanced econometric and modeling techniques—including time-series, panel data analysis, wavelet coherence, and regime-switching—to explore sustainable development pathways in both natural and socio-economic systems. With over 100 peer-reviewed publications, 20 supervised research projects, and 16 book chapters, he has secured grants from prominent organizations like TUBITAK and the Higher Education Council of Turkey. In recognition of his expertise, Dr. Bilgili serves as Editor of Sustainability Science (Springer), where he helps steer the journal’s mission to build a transdisciplinary platform that integrates natural, social, and human systems to address sustainability, global change, and well-being . He also holds editorial roles with other leading journals in environmental and sustainability domains.
