Profile Wei Li
Dr. Wei Li is a Professor at National Research Center of Pumps, Jiangsu University, China. He obtained his BE in 2003, ME in 2005 and PhD in Engineering in Fluid Machinery from Jiangsu University in 2012, and worked there since 2006. He was a visiting scholar in professor Ramesh Agarwal’s group at Department of Mechanical Engineering & Materials Science, Washington University in St. Louis from 2017-2018. He is currently the deputy director of National Research Center of Pumps of China, and the director of the Key Laboratory in Energy Saving Technology of Pump and System of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry. 2016 he served as Vice-Secretary of Drainage and Irrigation Equipment Division of Chinese Society for Agricultural Machinery, 2019 he served as Secretary-General of Power Engineering and Engineering Thermophysics Discipline Union of Universities in Jiangsu Province, 2020 he served as vice-President of China National Evaluation Measurement Test Alliance of Flow Meter. His research interest is focused on designing and optimization of advanced devices for high-efficiency pumped storage and hydropower utilization, particularly of energy loss mechanism in mixed-flow pump. He has published more than 150 papers, hold 35 patents and wrote 1 technical books and participated 2 books in the compilation and translation. His work has been recognized by several awards including the National Science and Technology Award (Second Class) of China, the National Teaching Achievement Award (Second Class) of China, the Industry-University-Research Cooperation innovation Achievement Award (First Class) of China, the Science and Technology Award (Second Class) of Chinese ministry of education, the Science and Technology Award (Third Class) of Jiangsu Province (China) and the Silver award of the first China Dual-use Technology Innovation and Application Competition.
